Marek-Jerzy Pindera, Professor of Structural and Solid Mechanics in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, has co-authored the foreword to a special issue of the Journal of Applied Mechanics. The special issue was dedicated to Fazil Erdogan, professor emeritus of mechanical engineering and mechanics at Lehigh University and an international expert in fracture mechanics, and co-authored by University of Illinois professor Glaucio H.
